Are you looking to see if you’re on the right track with your genealogical research? Have you taken a DNA test and you don’t know what to do with the results? Have you hit a brick wall and you don’t know what other sources or strategies might help? Do you believe you’ve solved a genealogical problem, but you want to have a professional to review your conclusions?
Consultations provide the opportunity for you to learn more about research strategies and available sources that will help keep your research moving forward. We are available for consultations on the following topics:
• Genealogical research on families from New Jersey, New York City, Pennsylvania, and the British Isles
• Understanding and working with your individual DNA test results from AncestryDNA, FamilyTreeDNA, 23andMe, and MyHeritage
• Reviewing your conclusions about a tough research problem or brick wall
• Irish and Italian dual citizenship eligibility, Q&A, and application review
Consultations allow for a one-on-one dialogue, and can be held either over the phone or via video conference. The benefit of video conferencing is the ability to screen share, which allows us to show you how to use different websites, access specific sources, and use online tools. We provide recordings of our consultations so that you can refer back to the discussion and the sources and tools covered.
Consultations can be scheduled for a minimum of 30 minutes to a maximum of 1.5 hours, depending on the complexity of your problem and the material to be reviewed. Consultations can typically be held within a few days of contacting us.
